Share in the Fellowship of the Christmas Season

It’s the most wonderful time of year, and we LOVE to gather together at St. Andrew’s to celebrate the reason for the season — the birth of our Lord, Jesus Christ.  Some of the activities we share in as a congregation are:

Jesse Tree Event
Fellowship with a potluck dinner, and a wonderful Advent activity called “the Jesse Tree” to enjoy with your families at home. Participants put together a set of ornaments to help us remember a nightly bible story which then explains the lineage and story of Jesus’ birth over the advent season.

Center Decorating
After worship on the first Sunday in December we decorate the center for Christmas.

Christmas Craft Night
Our annual Christmas Craft night starts off with a pot luck dinner followed by time to create some beautiful Christmas crafts.  This event is geared for ages 0-100, so all are welcome.   Each crafter is asked to make two crafts at each table…one to keep and one to give to community members at a later caroling event. This event continues to grow, and has become a favorite among many families!

Potluck and Caroling
Beginning with an after-church potluck lunch followed by Christmas Caroling.  After a lunch gathering, congregants drive over to the Mount Airy Library and go caroling around the neighborhood.  All are welcome!

Christmas for Families in Need
Every year, our Youth Group sponsors several families for Christmas.  They are provided Christmas wish lists from families in our community, and shop and wrap gifts for these families to have a wonderful Christmas.  If anyone wishes to do a little charitable Christmas shopping, candy canes with an wish list item attached can be found in our foyer right after Thanksgiving.  Monetary donations are also welcome!  The Youth Group will shop for any remaining items not purchased by the congregation.
